Watsons really kept its biggest secret and finally let the cat out of the bag with the most anticipated film release for Hari Raya! Who would have imagined the 2022 theme is so ‘luar biasa’ with a futuristic theme, so much it is out of the box concept with an underlying message as shared during the media launch by Watsons Malaysia’s managing director, Caryn Loh:
“The inspiration and theme behind this year’s meaningful and entertaining film is to remind everyone to believe in themselves, and that they are extraordinary no matter where they are. This year, as the country moves into the endemic phase, I wish all Malaysians an extraordinary Raya celebration, filled with rekindled bond and family togetherness.”
Just released 3 days ago (18 April) and has garnered more than 1 million views now on YouTube, the film Gaya Raya Luar Biasa features a line-up of local celebrities led by Watsons ambassador Ayda Jebat alongside Malaysian stars including Datuk Jalaludin Hassan, Fauziah Ahmad Daud, Nabil Mahir, Jinnyboy and DOLLA!

- Featuring Malaysia’s Evergreen
Ask any fellow Malaysian, who would not recognise the familiar Fauziah Ahmad Daud (fondly known as Kak Ogy) and Datuk Jalaludin Hasan. Both have graced the screens of Malay cinema and screen for decades and for the first time paired on Watsons Hari Raya film!
- Ayda feat DOLLA duet
You will not get this anywhere else having Malaysia’s most prominent celebrities dueting together for Hari Raya. Ayda Jebat, Watsons ambassador featuring DOLLA dueting for this year’s luar biasa song. This is the second time they are paired, and if you can recall previously for Raya Ikonik song!
- Jinny Boy appears (twice!)
As the theme is very futuristic this time around, you probably might have missed this one out (because the writer himself did so!). If you could spot Jinny Boy’s appearance in this feature film not once but twice. You can make a guess!
- Unik the Cat
Believe it or not, Unik is so popular these days thanks to her appearance in the last Hari Raya film. Unik is back, with a full astronaut suit!

This luar biasa feature film with all the amazing celebrity line up was filmed within the very tight timeline of 48 hours! Can you imagine that. So a big shout out goes to Watsons and the productive team for coming up with this luar biasa film.
- Iconic Dato’ Jalaludin Scene
Did you catch the scene when Dato’ Jalaludin Hassan posed the question “Adakah Anda Pasti?” to Nabil similar to his iconic line when he was the host of the Malaysian version of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”!
