Korean Beauty (K-beauty) has been a worldwide craze for few years, no matter how complex about its “10-step regimen”, people are willing to make effort for the “glass skin”! Are you tired of those routines? Here is good news for you! The long-time rival of Korea, Japan started to take over the beauty trend with its old time philosophy which focuses on simplicity and clean! Let’s take a look on the difference of K-beauty and J-beauty!

 

K-beauty

 

Korean beauty is famous for its complexion of “10-step regimen”, which requires a variety of skin care products, such as cleansing oil, cleansing foam, toner, serum, eye cream, face cream and body oil to ensure that the skin stays hydrated and create the perfect “glass skin” effect. Foreigners may find the ingredients are weird used in the skin products; however, it effectively repairs your skin and focuses on different skin condition. You may always find Korean skin products contain snail egg, bee-derived propolis, ginseng, arbutin and honey!

 

Essence: It is made by mixing liquid serum and toner. The essence is usually filled with fermented ingredients and used after cleansing and moisturizing; hence, the skin can absorb the essence.

 

Ampoules: Mostly contains a high concentration of active ingredients, it is a supercharged version of serum.

 

Facial masks: Korean facial masks are formulated for almost every skin concerns.

 

 

J-Beauty

 

The minimalism set a popular trend for almost everything, people like the idea of being simple and clean. On the other hand, Japan beauty puts emphasis on simplicity which is align with minimalism. Japanese skin care delivers preventive care and long-term benefits to the skin, while double cleansing at night is very important, not only does it  prevent acne, but also keeps the skin hydrated. Japanese love to treat their skin softly, they always perform hand message for their faces. Even they would exfoliate; they choose scrub with lighter texture.

 

Lotions: Thanks to high portion in water, it maximizes the moisturizing effect. It will not be easy to wipe away. Most of them are made of Aloe Vera, green tea and tea tree.

 

Oils: Whether it is cleansing oil or body oil, it plays a centre role in skin care for J-beauty, especially in the evening of double cleansing.

 

Sunscreen: No matter K-beauty or J-beauty, they are well known for the pursuit of whiter skin. Especially we all know that Japanese sunscreen has advanced formula on providing great UV protection. It is no doubt that all Japanese girls are very white!
