Nobody likes skin with excess oil, yet, you couldn’t keep your face glowing without it.  As we all know, over-washing your skin will finally lead to dry skin, affect the balance of your skin. To maintain the balance, you have to aware there are some everyday habits that are drying out your skin.

1. Taking hot shower

A hot shower is definitely an indulgence after a long day. Yet, the crucial truth is that it is only temporary comfort. Expert suggests that long and hot showers are bad for your skin. Why? Hot water will break down the lipid barriers and wash away protective oils in your skin, it will lead to skin’s dryness. Therefore, expert suggests you go for a shower in warm water.

2. Dehydration from within

Drinking water is always the first rule of thumb to keep your skin hydrated. You must hear about the theory of 8 glasses of water on a daily basis. We know that everybody has their struggles in lives, we are even too busy to drink enough water. Besides, you should not drink water only when you feel thirsty. In order to keep your skin glowing, you should drink water from time to time. Even better, incorporate fruits and vegetable in your diet to keep hydrated from within.

3. Over exfoliation

It is good to perform exfoliation from time to time so that the dead skin cell can be removed and new skin can come to the surface layer. Expert suggests that exfoliate your skin 1-2 times once a week will achieve the optimal result. On the contrary, over exfoliation will lead you redness, irritation, and breakout. As a result, your skin will lose natural oils and become dry.

4. Apply moisturizer in a wrong order

When do you apply your moisturizer? Many of us apply moisturizer in the morning and before going to sleep. They are not wrong, yet, it doesn’t optimize the moisturizing effect! To maximize the effect of the moisturizer, you should apply nourishing skincare products (e.g. moisturizer and body lotion) right after the shower. By doing so, it will help to lock the moisture to your skin.
