Eyeliner is a must in your makeup routine. Eyeliner not only changes the shape of eyes but also fills in the sparse looking lashes. It emphasizes the shape of the eye by framing the eyelid and accentuating the lash line. Even though eyeliner is an integral part of our makeup routine, it’s not exactly easy to handle. Here are the best eyeliner tricks everyone should know.
Use taupe-coloured eyeliner to open-up your eyes
There’s one makeup product that we have all lived without for far too long: Taupe eyeliner. Taupe liner can add subtle drama to your eye makeup, giving you sexy eye that is not too as heavy and intense like the way a dark brown or black liner will create. Smudge it all around the lash line, top and bottom, or swipe it on the waterline can even make your eyes look bigger.
Use mascara or eye shadow as liner when you’re in a rush
Honestly, for most of the mornings, we don’t have an extra hour to stand in front of the mirror, leisurely applying our makeup. When you’re in a rush, you can always try using mascara as liner. Curl the lashes and then add two to three coats of mascara, pressing and holding the lash wand into the root of the lashes without wiggling it and let the mascara deposit between the roots, bringing an eye-opening effect without the eyeliner. You can even use a brown eye shadow as an eyeliner by slightly wetting a brow brush before dipping it into the eye shadow, it makes a fast and easy glide on liner also.
Trace your cat eye with a pencil first
We all know the shaky-hand struggle is real when it comes to eyeliner. Is there any time more desperate than when you’re trying to nail an over-the-top cat eye and just can’t get it right? If you’re going for a more precise look like that requires liquid liner, it’s always a good idea to first draw the shape you want with a soft pencil liner first, as it’s easier to clean up and allows you to perfect the shape with minimal risk.
