If you are sad, add more lipstick and attack!!! This saying by fashion icon Coco Chanel never gets old. It’s like in the bible of beauty cosmetics to actually try on a lipstick even at a very young age. If the Ancient Sumerian and Indus Valley people did not come up with this idea of inventing and wearing a lipstick c.a. 5,000 years ago, I guess we’d be having just bare naked lips with some oil on it. 😉
How to make lipstick last all day?
But what makes the lipstick lasts a little longer instead of reapplying it every few hours or coffee sesh? Bet the hacks of dapping some powder after the whole applying lipstick ritual did not work well? Okay, let’s start with the basics first.
- Exfoliate and hydrate! Use a lip scrub to exfoliate at least once or twice a week, do not overdo it. And then hydrate your lips after for a full tender care.
- Lip Primer: This serves as a base for your lip color, allowing it to stay put and lay evenly on the lips while reducing feathering and creasing.
- Line your lips and fill it in – which you would refer below for more on how-to.
- THIS, THIS! This is the magic that works wonders to keep your lipstick last longer all day – it’s just by blotting some powder on it! Yes! Jokes aside!
- MUAH!!!
Right way to apply lipstick?
Heard of the Q-tip hack last year from Huda Beauty? It was cool but didn’t really work out well to some others. Here are some tips from us.
- First and foremost, it starts with an “X”. Draw and “X” on your cupid line of your lips. Don’t have one? Then make one! We are all born to be creators 😊
- And then outline the bottom line of your lower lips, just like how you’d want it to be.
- Connect the lines – draw out the outline of the upper and lower lips.
- Create some strokes by filling in for some tone towards the inner lips. Be sure to keep it out of your teeth! 😊
- And here comes the best part, paint your lips with your favorite colour on top of the shades earlier.
- Lastly, use a brush with concealer to sharpen the edge. Oh, didn’t we just got a full glamourous lips!
