As the battle with the pandemic is ongoing and keeping up with the spirit of giving during the holy month of Ramadan, Watsons through its social responsibility committee and partners teamed up to provide health kits for the underprivileged which include children and cancer patients.
On 14 April, Watsons led by Caryn Loh, Managing Director of Watsons Malaysia and the volunteering staff visited Rumah Titian Kaseh as the first pit stop to present health kits to the children. The visit also partnered with De.Wan by Chef Wan who came in to provide more than 100 berbuka puasa bento to the home.
In total, 24 children homes nationwide are benefitting through this which is distributed during the Ramadan and Hari Raya month. These health kits include essential items like Vitamin C, superfood for kids, face masks, antibacterial hand gel for kids, and personal care items such as toothbrush, toothpaste and body wash.
Meanwhile on 19 April, the Watsons team consisting of its volunteer staff together with Caryn presented health essential kits to the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM) who received the health kits such as facemask, hand sanitizer and Vitamin C on behalf of the B40 cancer patients.
During the visit, Caryn and the team was given a brief welcome by the team at NCSM and was given a walk through of what NCSM does for its cancer patients at the headquarters in Kampung Baru. NCSM is the oldest and first cancer-related NGO established in the country that has been advocating for cancer control in Malaysia for over 50 years where they offer an extensive range of cancer services, education and support to the people affected by cancer and the public.
With this gesture of doing good and feeling great, Watsons hopes the support with the essential kits will motivate both groups that they are not long forgotten but together the battle is fought until it is won.
