Sustainability is a practise that you would have come across many these days which promotes a responsible community for the environment. And major business operations and including small ones too have planted green initiatives into the DNA of the company and its employees
Being the leading health and beauty retailer, Watsons too take pride in taking care of the environment. We take pride to educate and to also set good examples in doing so, and this month it is all about going green – Green Is The New Beautiful!
So how can you involve yourself in doing good to our planet by promoting sustainable living and reducing impact. Here are some key tips we can share to enlighten you:
- Reusable bags for shopping
By now most people would understand that disposable plastic bags are bad for the environment. So, your duty here is to ensure you walk the talk and have these in your carry bag, in the car for standby whenever you need to buy groceries.
- Aiming for zero waste!
This includes both food and material waste. Switch to eco-friendly alternatives and eliminate single-use products such as plastic bags, plastic bottles, disposable utensils – everything responsible for polluting our oceans and killing the wildlife that our planet needs to survive.
- Opting for metal straws (or no straw at all!)
One of the many campaigns promoting greens is the ‘no to plastic straws’ which inculcates the usage of metal straws instead. And imagine these plastic straws that go to the river and ocean, it takes at least 200 years to decompose! By then, it has harmed the many living beings in the ocean.
- Recycle bottles for storage
The less you can use items for storage, the less plastic waste products are thrown away. Example, opt for reusing the same storage for any items including toiletries.
