Korang! 🙌 Have you watched the recently released ‘Raya Unik, Raya Ikonik’ film from Watsons? This time around, Watsons don’t play play (bukan calang-calang) with the lineup of celebrity friends featured in the music video. Besides Ayda Jebat, Watsons ambassador with Nabil Mahir (her hubby and their first appearance together after tying the knot early this year), Watsons Raya film also features legendary greats like Amy Search, Chef Wan and current sensations like DOLLA and Loca B!
So what makes this film unik and ikonik? 🤔
- Malaysia’s Power Couple
Ayda and Nabil cameos as a couple and narrates the storyline. And if you really follow them in their real life day to day, they are just so cute together and as exactly portrayed in this film. Hint, Ayda also led the singing this time!
- Rocker Legend (and still searching)
Any Malaysian would agree that he is the king of rock! Amy Search cameos with his sentimental genre portrayed nicely in this film that promotes family bonding. It has been a while since we have not seen him in action and did you know this is also his very first feature campaign with Watsons!
- Chef Wan – ambik kau!
This time around, Watsons brings you our very own masterchef Chef Wan into the foray with his appearance in the opening and closing scene. But if that is not enough to entice you with his selamba appearance, check out his Raya Unik, Resipi Ikonik videos here – a collaboration with Watsons to promote healthy cooking especially in preparation for Hari Raya celebration!
- Adding on some Hip-hop flavour
Who does not know Loca B for her recent big win at the Anugerah Juara Lagu? She cameos in the film portraying her true hip hop self (including rap singing in the Raya song). Funny how the storyline brought the ‘melatah’ part and brought out her break dance moves altogether. That is what we call creative ya!
- Watch us glow!
Oh yes, lastly we have to give a shoutout to DOLLA – Malaysia’s undisputed girl group featured in this film. Their hit song Watch Me Glow was all over the airwaves when it was released enticing local K-pop fans, and having them glowing in this film with Watsons rejuvenates a younger audience to celebrate Raya the iconic way this time around!
