Our classmates, our exes, our neighbours, and even our nans(?!) are crazy about acai. Well, that’s what it seems like anyway. Everywhere we go we seem to be hit with purple-tinged breakfasts covered in edible flowers. You’ve heard vague talk about a superfood or something, but how can something be so pretty, so delish, and so good? Something seems shady…
First up, we’re here to reassure you that, nope, nothing is shady about acai. It’s a South American super fruit loaded with anti-oxidants, vitamins, fibre, calcium, and omega. With all of this healthy stuff packed into one fruit, it’s no wonder acai is reaching cult status.
Oh, and because the acai fruit is so tender, it’s mostly consumed as a mega convenient powder. The process is super pure, so no nasty bits are added, and all the goodness stays. Now you know what acai is, there’s no excuse not to give it a go. Try one of our simple yet moreish recipes.
