Food is something we need every day, and many foods are very effective for health. However, some food taboos may not be known to most people. These food taboos include some special systems or patients who are not suitable for eating certain types of food, and some foods are not suitable for eating with certain foods. We have listed some of the examples here.
Eggplant
Eggplant is cool-natured, girls in the menstrual period and those with spleen and stomach deficiency should not eat it. Also, eggplant contains sensitive ingredients, so people with sensitive physique should also eat as little as possible. Pay attention on old cooked eggplants, they are likely to be poisoned after eating, so don’t eat them.
Potato
Potatoes contain a lot of starch and protein, vitamins B, C, etc. In addition, they contain a small amount of solanine. A large amount of solanine is harmful to the human body and can cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea and other poisoning phenomena, and even death in the most serious cases. The content of solanine will increase after the potato is exposed to the sun. Generally, when the potatoes are germinated, the skin colour turns green or purple, it represents the solanine is increased and cannot be eaten.
Spinach
Spinach contains more oxalic acid. After eating together with high-calcium food, it is easy to form calcium oxalate and cause calculus. Therefore, we should avoid eating spinach with high-calcium food such as tofu, black sesame and cheese etc.
Crab
When the persimmon and crab is eaten together, the tannic acid in the persimmon will clot with the protein of the crab meat, which will hinder the digestion and absorption of the protein, stimulate the stomach, and easily cause diarrhea. And these two kinds of foods are cool-natured, eating them together can make the stomach feel uncomfortable
White Radish
Eating white radish and carrots together will affect the body’s absorption of both vegetables. Because white radish has a very high vitamin C content, it is very beneficial to human health, but if it is mixed with carrots, vitamin C will disappear. The reason is that the carrot contains a de-enzyme called ascorbic acid, which destroys the vitamin C in the white radish. So, remember not to cook the two radishes together.
